Creating Buddy
The journey to becoming a children’s author has been such a learning experience and has enriched my life in ways I could not have imagined. I wanted my Buddy character to exemplify Christian values and good manners and I felt the Lord lead me to begin a weekly Facebook adventure with Buddy and his friends.
We started during Covid so most of Buddy’s stories involved his forest friends, Giddy-up Joe (the moose), Sunny Bunny and Country Rose (the bunnies). They were named after my daughter’s imaginary friends.
After Covid, Buddy went on adventures with my friend’s grandchildren and the kids from Sunday school. The children feel special when they take Buddy and bring the pictures of their week. It has allowed me to reconnect with so many friends and now he is a favorite with my own grandchildren.
Buddy has had an amazing life including motorcycle and airplane trips. He’s been to Australia twice and dreams of visiting his ministry partners in Kenya, India and Brazil.
Buddy and I look forward to reading his stories at schools and making so many more friends.
Life is exciting.
